Compassionate, Personalized Care

Our licensed midwives are here to provide individualized attention from your first prenatal visit through postpartum recovery. Our appointments are relaxed, lasting between 30-60 minutes, giving you time to ask questions and receive holistic care.

We monitor both mother and baby carefully, offering the same standard of medical screenings and prenatal assessments while emphasizing education, nutrition, and overall well-being.

A Safe, Supportive Birth Experience

Our birth center is designed to offer the comforts of home with the reassurance of expert care. Whether laboring in a birth tub or finding comfort through movement and breathwork, our midwives support your choices and preferences.

For those who need additional medical care, we maintain strong relationships with local hospitals to ensure a smooth transition when necessary.

Our midwives are licensed through the California Medical Board, certified through the National Association of Registered Midwives, and trained in neonatal resuscitation and emergency procedures. With a low C-section rate and high VBAC success rates, we are dedicated to keeping birth as safe and natural as possible.

Kinds Words from Patients

Rebekah is a true blessing of a midwife! She walked beside me on both my pregnancy journeys and met me right where I was at! She encouraged me in my research and questions and always allowed me to keep full autonomy over my journeys! She was incredibly supportive and gave the best postpartum care for me and my babies. I loved having her come in the weeks following my births to check on me and baby and to answer any questions I had! I always felt heard, seen, and loved!

— Michailia

Like to extend our sincere gratitude to Rebekah and her staff on a wonderful experience from our visits to the birthing center to the home visits and to the day of delivery. Her midwife experience really shows in all interactions as she passionately shared her knowledge. She definitely made my wife and I feel at ease. Rebekah had answers to all of our questions and was very supportive throughout our second home birth journey including postpartum. We are definitely blessed to have met Rebekah and her team, they’re truly heartwarming.

FAQ

How does birth at a birth center differ from one at a hospital?

Birth at a birth center is not treated as a medical event. You won’t be hooked up to monitors. You will have the freedom to move and find positions that feel best for you. You have full control over who attends your birth. Your care will be provided by a licensed midwife and her assistant, with the option of a doula for additional support. Your partner will be actively involved in the labor and birth, and your family can be present if you choose.

Is birth at a birth center safe?

Yes. Studies show that birth at a birth center or home is just as safe as hospital birth for low-risk pregnancies. Your body is designed for birth. In a supportive, comfortable setting, most labors progress smoothly with little to no intervention.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate for birth at a birth center?

At your initial appointment, your midwife will review your health history, birthing history (if applicable), check your blood pressure, and listen to the baby. This helps determine if a birth center birth is a safe option for you. Most women are good candidates for community birth.

What medications are used at the birth center; will I have access to pain meds?

Midwifery care does not include hospital-based pain management, such as epidurals. Instead, natural comfort measures are used, including water birth, position changes, and a calm, supportive environment. Midwives and doulas have extensive experience helping women manage labor in the most comfortable ways possible.

Do I still need OB care if I am having a birth at a birth center?

Midwifery care replaces OB care. A licensed midwife is trained to oversee your pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum care. However, if you prefer to continue seeing an OB alongside midwifery care, this can be discussed with your midwife.

Is a doula the same thing as a midwife? Will there be a doula at my birth?

A doula and a midwife have different roles. A doula provides physical and emotional support during labor but is not medically trained. Some are certified, but certification is not required. A midwife, on the other hand, is a licensed medical professional who provides prenatal, birth, and postpartum care.
A doula is not required for a birth center birth, but having one is highly recommended for additional support to coach you physically and emotionally to work with your body to achieve the best possible outcome. If you choose to hire a doula, their services are separate from midwifery care and are paid for out of pocket.

Should my birthing partner attend my appointments? Can I bring my children?

Yes! Your partner is welcome at all appointments, and we especially recommend they attend your first visit and any late-term appointments before your due date.
Children are also welcome at your appointments (and birth, if you choose). We aim for a relaxed, family-friendly environment with toys available to help keep little ones entertained.
